British Airways to fly daily to Rio de Janeiro
From October 28th, British Airways will be offering customers a daily service to Brazil’s fabulous Rio de Janeiro. Adding a Monday departure increases the frequency of flights from six to seven per week, using one of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ERs.

Finishing touches put to British Airways’ first A380
MSN95, British Airways’ first A380 double-decker superjumbo has emerged from the largest paint hangar in the world after being emblazoned with the airline’s famous red, white and blue livery. Twenty-four painters at Airbus’ Hamburg hangar spent two weeks on eight movable platforms up to 30 metres from the ground applying five coats of red, white and blue gloss paint to the huge aircraft.
British Airways places order for 18 Boeing Dreamliners
International Airlines Group has reached agreement with Boeing for new long-haul aircraft for the group’s fleet. IAG plans to convert 18 existing Boeing 787s options into firm orders for British Airways.

British Airways has raised £2 million for Red Nose Day, which took place last night (March 15). This brings British Airways’ fundraising total for Comic Relief to £4.5 million, which it has raised through its Flying Start partnership since 2010.
British Airways extends hand baggage only offering
British Airways is to extend its range of “hand baggage only” fares to all of its 32 short-haul routes at Gatwick Airport. The new type of fare, which launched last month, is already proving popular with customers on the initial five destinations from Gatwick – Amsterdam, Dubrovnik, Jersey, Tunis and Turin.
