British Airways plans roll out of in-flight broadband
British Airways is in talks with communications satellite firm Inmarsat to become the initial customer for the first pan-European high-speed air-to-ground internet service. Negotiations are at an “advanced stage,” with British Airways planning to introduce the technology on UK domestic routes, the companies have confirmed in a statement.

British Airways welcomes new aircraft to fleet
British Airways has welcomed the two newest members of its fleet to Heathrow, the airline’s London hub. The largest aircraft in the fleet, the A380 and one of the smallest, the A320, stood nose to nose at Airbus’ site in Toulouse before British Airways pilots flew them into Heathrow.

British Airways has announced it will be increasing the number of flights to Newcastle from June 2nd, 2014. British Airways has been offering flights between London and Newcastle for 55 years. Operated by an Airbus A320, the additional return flight on a Monday and Wednesday will mean customers will have 41 flights each week to choose from.

British Airways and US Airways are launching a codeshare arrangement which will allow British Airways customers access to nearly 40 destinations in North America and the Caribbean. In the reciprocal arrangement, US Airways customers will be able to fly with British Airways to more than 70 destinations throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Hitting the slopes will be easier than ever this year with the start of new short-haul routes to top ski resorts from Gatwick. During the winter 2014 season, British Airways will fly twice weekly, from December 20th, to Friedrichshafen in Germany and Grenoble in France, using a mix of Airbus A319s and 320s.
Tobago receives double airlift boost
The Tobago House of Assembly has revealed an increase in the winter flight services of both British Airways and Monarch Airlines. As of October 26th, two additional BA flights will operate via Antigua to the island of Tobago, increasing capacity on the route by 100 per cent to meet demand. This is closely followed by an additional direct weekly Monarch Airlines flight, which commences on December 16th 2014.
