Boeing has reported first-quarter revenue of $23.4 billion, reflecting higher commercial deliveries, defence contract volume and services growth.

United Airlines has taken delivery of its first 737 MAX 9 aircraft from the Boeing Delivery Centre in Seattle. The new aircraft, which arrived right after Earth Day, reduces fuel use and CO2 emissions significantly compared with older generation aircraft.

Boeing and American Airlines have announced the world’s largest airline will more than double its 787 Dreamliner fleet with a new order for 47 of the super-efficient airplane. The American carrier has also taken 28 options on further Dreamliners.

Boeing and Air Lease Corporation have finalised an order for eight more 737 MAX 8 airplanes, valued at $936.8 million at list prices. Air Lease Corporation, one of the world’s leading airplane lessors, has been a big buyer of the improved 737 airplane.

Boeing and the Lion Air Group have celebrated the very first 737 MAX 9 to be delivered. The airplane will go into service with Thai Lion Air, where its added capacity will help the airline launch several international routes.

Oman Air has taken delivery of the second of 30 Boeing 737 Max 8s it has on order. The aircraft will allow the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman to continue its growth.
