Virgin Atlantic has unveiled the first of four new Airbus A330-200 to join their fleet. Named ‘Daydream Believer’ or, more prosaically, G-VMNK, the plane arrived into Gatwick for finishing touches before it enters into service in March
US International Trade Commission rules in favour of Bombardier in C Series dispute
In a surprise decision, the International Trade Commission has found that the aviation industry in the United States is not “materially injured” by the import of 100- to 150-seat civilian aircraft from Canada. The decision means Bombardier will not have to pay a proposed levy of over 200 per cent to import its C Series jets to the United States.
Airbus A350-1000 embarks on global demonstration tour
The A350-1000 has embarked on a three-week demonstration tour to the Middle-East and Asia-Pacific regions. The tour follows the completion of a successful flight test campaign, which lasted less than one year and culminated in joint EASA and FAA type certification.
Emirates ensures Airbus A380 survival with 36 plane order
Dubai-based Emirates Airline has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire up to 36 additional A380 aircraft. The agreement was signed this morning at the airline’s headquarters in Dubai by Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chief executive, Emirates Airline, and John Leahy, chief operating officer, customers, Airbus Commercial Aircraft.
Airbus sees record commercial aircraft deliveries in 2017
Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft deliveries were up for the 15th year in a row in 2017, reaching a new company record of 718 aircraft delivered to 85 customers. Deliveries were more than four per cent higher than the previous record of 688 set in 2016.
New leadership appointed for Airbus’ operations in China
Eric Chen, previously president of Airbus Commercial Aircraft China, has succeeded Laurence Barron as chairman of Airbus China. Simultaneously, George Xu has been appointed chief executive of Airbus China.

Airbus sees first BelugaXL roll off Toulouse production line
The first structurally complete airframe for the new BelugaXL rolled out from its assembly hangar in Toulouse, France this month. Once operational, a fleet of these next-generation airlifters will be used to transport completed sections of Airbus aircraft among the company’s European production sites and to its final assembly lines in France, Germany and Spain.
Airbus unveils first A321neo ACF ahead of debut
Airbus has completed assembly of the first A321neo ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex) at its facilities in Hamburg. The aircraft powered by CFM Leap-1A engines will undergo ground tests prior to its scheduled first flight in the coming weeks.
Air Astana welcomes first Airbus A321neo to fleet
Air Astana has taken delivery of the first A321neo at the Airbus facility in Hamburg, Germany. The aircraft is on an operating lease from Aercap, with the deal including two further A321neo and one A320neo aircraft for delivery planned in 2018.

Vietjet has become the first airline in south-east Asia to take delivery of an A321neo (new engine option). The first plane arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport from Hamburg, Germany, earlier.
Airbus finalises $50bn deal with Indigo Partners
Airbus has finalised agreements with Indigo Partners and its four portfolio airlines for the purchase of 430 additional A320neo family aircraft.
