Valiant Lady makes debut at London showcase

Virgin Voyages has welcomed the launch of its second ship, Valiant Lady, with a star-studded event onboard at the London International Cruise Terminal.

The glamourous night saw the ship come to life with exclusive entertainment and immersive activations that kept guests in awe, including a special live Capital Weekender show that saw celebrities such as Diplo, Ella Henderson, Leigh Francis, Diana Vickers, Roman Kemp, Talia Storm, Doc Brown, Michael Griffiths, Chris Taylor, Francesca Wallbank and more hit the red carpet.

Ru Paul’s Drag Race stars Joe Black, Cherry Valentine, Sister Sister, Ellavaday and Krystal Versace also sashayed on board to dance the night away.

BRIT Award winner Ella Henderson kicked off the night by taking to the Manor – the ship’s nightclub designed by Tom Dixon and named after Richard Branson’s first Virgin music studio – for an exclusive live performance.

Grammy Award winning DJ, Diplo, debuted new songs from his latest self-titled album.

The appearance continues his partnership with Virgin Voyages, which saw him join the brand’s On Deck residency program and perform at the Virgin Voyages Beach Club at Bimini in 2020.

Nirmal Saverimuttu, president of Virgin Voyages, said: “People are excited to explore the world again and it means a lot to us that we can come together with our sailors and celebrate with them.

“At Virgin Voyages, we put music and entertainment at the forefront of all our experiences and tonight was no different.

“We wanted to launch Valiant Lady with an incredible line-up of artists that gave our Sailors a flavour of what they can expect when they choose to set sail the Virgin way!”

Valiant Lady is the second ship in Virgin Voyages’ new adult-by-design fleet, which aims to redefine the cruise industry by bringing the luxe of a boutique hotel to the seas.

From May, Valiant Lady will operate from her new homeport in Barcelona offering late night and overnight stays in the likes of Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Lisbon, Belgium and Ibiza, where sailors can hop off and enjoy shore side chilling and exploring before heading back on the ship for a night of luxury surprises.
