YTL Hotels Introduces Innovative Facebook Application - Family C@nnect

When guests with children confirm a room reservation on the YTL Hotels homepage, an invitation is sent inviting them to visit the YTL Hotels Facebook page. There are several simple options to connect; making a new post allows users to submit details of their planned resort visit and automatically shares the news on their own Facebook page. Details include the resort’s name, check in and check out date, number of accompanying children and a comment box which allows families to send a personal message if they wish to connect with other families.

Alternatively, guests can browse through informative Facebook posts from other guests or view posts that are linked to the participating resorts; The Majestic Malacca, Cameron Highlands Resort, Tanjong Jara Resort and Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia, The Green Leaf Niseko Village in Japan and The Muse Hotel in St. Tropez, France.

“I’m incredibly excited about the potential for this ground-breaking application because new technology is playing an increasingly influential part in our guests’ lifestyles. To meet this growth YTL Hotels has developed and launched Family C@nnect to provide Facebook users with the unique opportunity to engage with family and friends and personalise their holiday experience at participating YTL Hotels properties. I was thinking back to my own childhood memories of family holidays aged 9 or 10 – that initial trepidation in approaching new friends by the pool or wondering if there would be any children my age to play with. With Facebook, you can find out before arriving!” said James McBride, President of YTL Hotels. “Parents will also find Family C@nnect an invaluable tool for accessing advice, tips and recommendations from other likeminded families. We know the best family holidays involve shared experiences and new friends and we hope to facilitate this with Family C@nnect.”
