Wyndham Hotel Group unveils new Super 8 Room Concept

Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company with over 7,200 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, unveiled a contemporary new guestroom design concept for its Super 8® brand in Europe and the Middle East at the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF).

Featured outside the IHIF lounge for forum attendees to experience, the new Super 8 room concept is innovatively built using modular construction, allowing for faster and more economical hotel development.  Consistent with the brand’s founding philosophy of providing consistent, friendly service and clean rooms at affordable rates, the room concept combines simplicity with comfort, ensuring the needs of the modern day traveller are catered for with features such as a USB charging station for iPods and iPhones as well as a large bed and walk-in shower.

At IHIF last year, Wyndham Hotel Group announced the launch of the Super 8 brand in Poland, with a minimum of 10 hotels to be developed there in partnership with Colliers International and constructed by Unibep Group, a Polish construction company.

“This is an exciting time for our Super 8 brand as we work towards a greater presence in Europe and reinforce the brand’s position as the world’s largest economy lodging chain with over 2,200 hotels,” said Eric Danziger, Wyndham Hotel Group president and CEO. “We are pleased to offer a room concept that retains the essence of the Super 8 brand while catering to the EMEA marketplace.”

Guests staying at Super 8 hotels can rest easy with the brand’s “8 Point Promise,” offering free in-room high-speed Internet access, free SuperStart® continental breakfast, free stays for kids who share an adult family member’s room, cable or satellite TV with free premium channels, large walk-in power showers, free coffee in the lobby, a guaranteed best available rate on super8.com and access to Wyndham Rewards®, the Wyndham Hotel Group loyalty program which allows guests the opportunity to earn points towards free nights, free flights or free gift vouchers.

The Super 8 brand was established in 1974 in South Dakota and was acquired by Wyndham Hotel Group in 1993. With over 2,200 properties throughout the U.S, Canada and China, the brand has more hotels than any other economy lodging chain in the world.
