Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the opening of the 91-room Wyndham Garden Barranquilla hotel, jointly with local partner Inversiones Rueda Leon.

The hotel becomes the company’s 13th property to open in Colombia.

Wyndham Garden Barranquilla is located in the heart of Barranquilla’s financial district, mere steps from several major corporations, banks, and industrial parks, as well as the world-renowned shopping for which Barranquilla and Colombia are famous.

The hotel’s prime location also offers easy access to Cartagena, Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport, renowned medical facilities and acclaimed restaurants.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of the newly constructed Wyndham Garden in the heart of Barranquilla, one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia with booming tourism and business industries,” said Paulo Pena, president and managing director for Wyndham Hotel Group in Latin America and the Caribbean.

“The new hotel will provide guests visiting the city with the amenities and services to meet the needs of today’s traveller.”

Wyndham Garden Barranquilla’s 91 elegant, well-appointed guest rooms are each equipped with a flat-screen HDTV, a mini-bar and an iPod docking station.

The hotel’s multi-lingual staff offer a warm and enthusiastic service 24 hours a day.

The non-smoking hotel also offers a business centre, a fitness centre, free high-speed Wi-Fi access throughout and indoor parking.

Its 80-square-metre event room accommodates up to 80 attendees in a theatre-style setting or 40 for a sit-down banquet, with access to a sundeck and gardens for refreshment breaks or break-out sessions.

Leisure facilities located on the rooftop with sweeping city views include a hot tub, steam-room and sauna.

The on-site restaurant offers complimentary breakfast and Colombian and international dining options.

“We are excited to once again be partnering with Wyndham Hotel Group, the largest hotel company in the world,” said Carmen Sofia León, chief executive, Inversiones Rueda Leon.

“Our new hotel’s unique design and amenities are set to satisfy the quality needs of domestic and international travellers visiting Barranquilla.”
