Versari steps up to lead Helvetia & Bristol Firenze

Starhotels has appointed Federico Versari as general manager of Helvetia & Bristol Firenze.

The hotel is the epitome of timeless elegance and has just reopened following an extensive renovation to regain its position as Florence’s finest residence.

With a broad spectrum of international experience in five-star hospitality industry, Versari joins Starhotels from Grand Hotel et de Milan, part of Leading Hotels of the World, where he has been general manager for the last three years.

His previous experiences encompass prestigious properties like Borgo Egnazia and Masseria San Domenico in Puglia, the Verdura Golf & SPA Resort in Sicily part of Rocco Forte Group and the Hotel Romazzino and the Pitrizza in Costa Smeralda, both part of former Starwood Luxury Collection.

Antonio Ducceschi, Starhotels Collezione Cluster general manager, commented: “We are delighted to have Federico Versari joining the Starhotels Collezione team.

“We believe that his experience in high-end hospitality, coupled with his professional and enthusiastic approach, will contribute to delivering an excellent guest experience to our customers.”

Drawing inspiration from the enchantment of its past, the restoration of the historic part of the Helvetia & Bristol, which encompasses all of the 64 rooms and suites and the common areas, will be completed by June.

On the other hand, the whole restructuring project is expected to be concluded within November, when the neighbouring building – the former Banca di Roma – will be annexed to the hotel with 25 new magnificent rooms and suites, a spa and an events space.

Commenting on his new role, Versari added: “I am excited to be leading the re-launch of the legendary Helvetia & Bristol after such an important renovation.

“I am very much focused on conveying the Starhotels Collezione experience by offering the finest hospitality in this iconic destination.”
