UK passengers offered Olympic options with American Airlines

This summer, British sporting enthusiasts can experience the action live from Rio de Janeiro, with convenient connections to Brazil from four UK airports when travelling with American Airlines.

The world’s largest airline, American, has serviced Brazil for 26 years, and offers daily flights to five destinations across the country including Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo Belo Horizonte, Brasilia and Manaus.

American Airlines operates daily services to Rio de Janeiro from London Heathrow (LHR), Birmingham (BHX), Manchester (MAN) and Edinburgh (EDI) via either New York (JFK) or Miami (MIA).

Customers travelling with American throughout August can tune in to the action in Rio, live from 35,000 feet, using inflight Satellite TV capability, available on select aircraft.

Live television broadcasting is just one of the enhancements as part of American’s $3 billion investment in planned improvements, to provide customers with a superior travel experience.

These investments include fully lie-flat seats; international Wi-Fi; more in-flight entertainment options and power outlets; and a new, modern design for our Admirals Club lounges worldwide including Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
