Tiger Airways receives regulatory approval to increase flights
In a rare piece of good news for the airline, Tiger Airways has issued a statement on the Singapore Exchange stating it has gained regulatory approval to boost the number of flights it operates.
Consequently, Tiger Airways Australia will soon roll out a new flight schedule with additional flying for travel prior to Christmas.
Plans include an extra daily Melbourne-Perth flight, taking the service from one daily return flight to two daily return flights.
An extra Melbourne-Brisbane service will increase the low-cost carrier’s offering from three daily return services to up to four daily return services over the festive period.
Tiger will also introduce an additional Melbourne-Gold Coast service, seeing the current two daily return services increased to three.
Finally, there will also be two extra daily return Melbourne-Sydney rotations taking the total to up to seven daily return services.
Tiger was grounded for a number of weeks earlier this year following concerns over safety at the low-cost carrier.
