Thomas Cook Airlines scoops top World Travel Awards title

Thomas Cook Airlines has been named the World’s Leading Charter Airline for the third year in a row at the World Travel Awards in Vietnam.

The prestigious award was announced at a red-carpet ceremony at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay.

Voted for by travel and tourism professionals and business and leisure travel consumers worldwide, the World Travel Awards are globally recognised as the ultimate hallmark of quality and excellence.

Chief group airlines officer, Christoph Debus, said: “What a proud moment.

“This award affirms our efforts over the past twelve months to keep our customers at heart of everything we do, from providing a world-class, modernised fleet and service to offering the very best leisure destinations around the world.

“Our employees have worked hard to achieve this recognition and I would like to thank each and every one of them for their efforts.”

Debus added: “Our journey is set to continue in 2018.

“Thomas Cook Airlines Balearics will join the group, we have more exciting destinations, continued profitable growth and further expansion of our long-haul offer.

“We are the largest long-haul carrier from Manchester Airport and in May 2018, Seattle will be the newest US destination to join San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas, Boston and Los Angeles.”

Thomas Cook Group Airlines incorporates Thomas Cook Airlines UK, Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia and Condor.

In spring 2018 newly-founded sister airline, Thomas Cook Airlines Balearics will join the group in Palma de Majorca.

The combined airline fleet consists of 92 aircraft and carries 16.7 million passengers per year to more than 160 destinations.
