THE NEWMAN UNVEILS ITS “WELLNESS AT THE NEWMAN” CONCEPT
The Newman, the first hotel from hospitality management company Kinsfolk & Co, is delighted to reveal its spa and wellness concept as it prepares to launch later this summer. Wellness at The Newman is an urban sanctuary in the heart of Fitzrovia, an exciting addition to the London wellness scene, driven by the needs of the local community and hotel guests.
A standout feature, The Newman will be home to a medical-grade halotherapy room, designed to support respiratory health, skin conditions, and overall well-being. The room incorporates patented technology that disperses microscopic salt particles into the air whilst also functioning as a relaxation area, complete with heated benches. Alongside the halotherapy room, guests will have access to an Ice Lounge, a cold-air environment designed to complement the heat-based therapies and enhance the overall wellness experience.
Other facilities include a Finnish sauna and steam room for contrast therapy rituals, multi-sensory experience showers and a hydrotherapy plunge pool. Wellness Journeys, specially curated for The Newman, allow guests to embark on a series of experiences designed around the pillars of Explore, Engage, and Recover, in response to different needs.
This Nordic influence extends to the design by London based studio LIND + ALMOND, who in delivering the brief for the wellness floor, have taken inspiration from the Swedish Grace movement of the 1920’s. Moving away from the typical stark and impersonal feel of many modern spas, this intimate space instead radiates warmth and comfort, drawing on the textures, tones, and patterns of the movement with a particular nod to Marta Fjetterström, a celebrated textile designer of the era. Natural materials such as warm oak, bronze, leather, textured coloured glass, antique brass, and walnut have been carefully selected to enhance the inviting atmosphere, complemented by bespoke tapestries from London born artist, Christabel Balfour. These elements come together to create a serene environment that feels both personal and timeless, in which craftsmanship and subtle luxury is celebrated.
The treatments offered at Wellness at The Newman have been developed exclusively for the hotel, each shaped by the spa’s core values of sustainability, personalisation, and innovation, while reflecting a Nordic sensibility. Collaborations include Scandinavian clean beauty brand Nuori – marking their first London hotel presence, Moss of the Isles which uses nature’s most active ingredients from Ireland and the British Isles, and science-led CBD brand KLORIS who have their flagship store in central London. All treatments can be personalised to meet an individual guest’s needs based on their specific requirements, ensuring a truly tailored wellness journey.

In line with Wellness at The Newman’s long-term results led approach is a partnership with Hyperice, a global leader in recovery technology that provides innovative tools such as Normatec compression boots and a ‘Venom’ heat therapy belt. Further enhancing the experience is a collaboration with Déesse PRO, providing guests with access to advanced, medical-grade LED light treatments.
Complementing this innovative treatment menu and tranquil treatment rooms is a thoughtfully designed gymnasium and studio. The salt-walled studio offers a comprehensive schedule of classes, from yoga to mat Pilates, designed to support both physical and mental wellbeing. There is also a state-of-the-art techno gym with personal training available upon request.
For those looking for a fully immersive wellness experience from the comfort of their suite, the Penthouse Suite at The Newman features a private terrace complete with an ice bath, sauna, shower, fire pit and dedicated space for spa treatments, yoga, Pilates and movement practices, all whilst overlooking the London skyline.
“It’s been a privilege to bring The Newman to life as the first property from Kinsfolk & Co. For our team, this is more than just opening a hotel, it’s about setting a new standard in thoughtful, considered hospitality of which wellness is a large part. The wellness floor at The Newman reflects that vision wholeheartedly, with every element carefully designed to support the wellbeing of our guests and neighbours” commented Oliver Milne-Watson, General Manager of The Newman.
Wellness at The Newman has been developed in collaboration with Stockholm based Raison d’Etre, the spa experts behind the creation of nine global spa brands, from Aman and Six Senses to Borgo Egnazia in Puglia and The Datai in Langkawi, Wellness at The Newman spans an entire floor of the hotel with a concept influenced by Nordic wellness culture.
With these expertly curated wellness offerings, The Newman is set to redefine urban well-being, delivering a rejuvenating retreat in the heart of the city.
