The Jumeirah Regatta Sails into its Ninth Year with a Record Number of Competitors

The Jumeirah Regatta, now in its ninth year, will be taking place from 29th - 30th January, welcoming cruisers, dinghies, foiling moths and catamarans from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Oman in a sailing race off Dubai’s coastline.

The annual event, sponsored by Jumeirah Group, a member of Dubai Holding,  has firmly established itself as one of the highlights of the national sailing calendar with increasing international appeal; bringing together the top young sailing talent from across the GCC, as well as many of the UAE’s most experienced fleet racing competitors.

The 2010 Regatta marks the first time that the event has received entries beyond Dubai with entrants from Abu Dhabi and the Oman Sailing Club also competing this year. The overall line-up of sailing vessels exceeds the registration record of previous years, with 110 vessels taking part in this year’s event.

The Jumeirah Regatta will be hosted between the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, whose North Beach will host the dinghies, Dubai Offshore Sailing Club, which will launch the cruisers, and Mina Seyahi Watersports Club, the event base for the catamarans.
