Severe weather causes US flight cancellations

Thousands of flights have been cancelled in the US due to severe weather conditions.

Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Aer Lingus are among airlines that have cancelled services to New York and Boston in the wake of Storm Nemo.

32 inbound flights to Heathrow Airport and two outbound flights were cancelled, according to reports.

The storm, which has brought heavy snowfall to a number of cities, has been described as ‘historic’ affecting 25 million people who have been warned to stay at home.
