SA Tourism appoints new UK Country Manager

Lungi Morrison has been appointed as the SA Tourism UK Country Manager.

Morrison’s depth of experience in brand building and communications makes her an ideal candidate to continue the organisation’s work in the UK, says Tim Scholtz, South African Tourism’s Chief Operating Officer.

Morrison joined SAT on 1 August 2011, and will initially be based at the organisation’s Johannesburg’s head office before relocating to London at the beginning of September.

Her work will entail promoting South Africa as a preferred destination to visitors from the UK, South Africa’s largest market. She will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, enhancing awareness of South Africa as a tourist destination, monitoring market trends and improving the organisation’s corporate image.

Said Scholtz: ‘Lungi joins SAT with an impressive career history, spanning consumer, governmental and non-profit undertakings. Her positive outlook is infectious and her passion for South Africa undeniable. We are proud to have her on board.’
