RedBall Project visits Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi

The acclaimed RedBall Project has appeared at Emirates Palace, the five star luxury destination situated on the beautiful Abu Dhabi coastline.

Recognised as the Middle East’s Leading Meetings & Conference Hotel by the World Travel Awards the installation was completed in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Municipality and the National Day Celebration Committee ahead of the 40th UAE National Day.

Forming part of Emirates Palace’s inspired programme of events, the RedBall Project is a unique travelling exhibition, devised by internationally-renowned US artist, Kurt Perschke.

Appearing at iconic destinations across the world, the inflatable RedBall will reside in the spectacular Middle Arch of the Palace – inviting guests and visitors to engage with the form, be it gazing with curiosity from afar or bouncing off its sides.

Kurt Perschke received a National Award from Americans for the Arts Public Art Network for his inspirational RedBall Project and its sculptural credentials.

First presented in 2006, the RedBall has appeared at locations across Barcelona, St. Louis, Portland, Sydney, Arizona, Chicago and Toronto however its new home at the Emirates Palace is set to be its most luxurious and magnificent setting to date.

Alongside this, a photographic exhibition of Kurt Perschke’s work will take place in the East Corridor of the Palace until December 3rd 2011 – the latest in a series of cultural and artistic showcases at the hotel and an exciting addition to the impressive events and exhibitions taking place during National Day celebrations.

Other events include the ‘Pearls: UAE’s Natural History’ exhibition, an authentic-style Bedouin tent, night-time laser displays, a 40-tier National Day Cake, a display of 40 different types of UAE dates and an array of traditional dishes from Mezlai located on the ground floor of Emirates Palace – the first five star Emirati restaurant in the UAE.
