Quito to Host Latin America’s Largest MICE Conference in 2026

The city of Quito has been chosen as the official host of PCMA Convening LATAM 2026, one of the most important events in the MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) in Latin America. Organised by the renowned PCMA (Professional Convention Management Association), this international conference will turn Ecuador’s capital into the home of the continent’s events industry in 2026.

This major announcement was made last year at the first PCMA Convening LATAM in Bogotá, which Quito attended as a candidate city. Ecuador’s capital has earned this opportunity through its strategic efforts to position itself as a top destination for MICE tourism. Through public-private partnerships and a firm commitment to international promotion, Quito has succeeded in making itself a city with modern infrastructure, great connectivity and competitive capabilities that align with the demands of the global MICE industry.

Beyond its prime location in the centre of the continent, Quito stands out for its cultural heritage as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its lush natural environment and its growing professionalism in the tourism and events industry.

It is worth noting that MICE tourism is one of the most powerful economic drivers of global tourism. It accounts for around 22% of global tourism revenue and generates roughly 27.5 million jobs. Moreover, conference travellers spend 4 to 5 times more than traditional tourists and tend to stay for a longer period, meaning a greater economic impact for the destination.

It is estimated that Convening Latam PCMA 2026 will bring around 400 industry professionals to Quito, from all over Latin America and the United States: event organisers, professional associations, convention bureaus, tourism companies, institutional representatives, academics and the media.

With a global network of more than 7,000 partners and an audience of more than 100,000 industry leaders, PCMA is currently the world’s most influential platform for event management. Its event in Quito will offer a unique opportunity for networking, top-level training and boosting the city’s international impact.
