Qatar Airways continues flights to Egypt

In response to the current security situation in Egypt, Qatar Airways has made adjustments to its operations to and from the country.

To adhere to imposed curfews in Alexandria and Cairo, the airline has revised its schedules to operate flights to and from the three cities outside the restricted timings.

The Doha-based airline has also deployed additional capacity to the cities since the start of civil unrest in order to facilitate travel for more passengers departing Egypt to Doha and other points within the airline’s network.

The corporate jet division of the airline, Qatar Executive, is flying at near full capacity, deploying its Bombardier fleet to operate several flights out of Luxor.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “Since the start of the unforeseen events in Egypt, we have monitored the situation closely and have taken proactive measures to repatriate nationals to Qatar, as well as other countries. As the national carrier, we are fully committed to ensure all Qataris are able to return safely, and also to ensure all connecting passengers are able to rebook and return to their countries as quickly as possible.”

The airline’s network has a reach of six continents, with many routes operating daily non-stop from its Doha hub. Qatar Airways now operates almost 1,000 flights every week across its global network of nearly 100 destinations.
