Eurail.com BV, the company behind www.interrailnet.com, announced that their website has won a Euractiv Award in the category of Services & Others. The European winners of the Fondation EurActiv Awards for Debating Europe Nationally were recognized at a ceremony at the European Parliament in Brussels on November 12.
“We are very proud to have won this Euractiv Award, which underlines the Pan-European spirit of our European train travel products and our websites,” says Managing Director Paulien Pierik.
The award-winning InterRail website offers customers the opportunity to purchase Europe train passes, known as InterRail passes, in six languages - playing into the international character of the product. With payment possibilities in local currencies (British Pound and Euro), plus the convenience of free delivery, the website’s growing popularity is evident in its 12,000+ Facebook Fans.
By allowing customers to purchase Europe train tickets in many languages, Interrailnet.com representative Jeroen de Bruin says that the website has encouraged young people to explore Europe once again.
European train travel is certainly not reserved only for the young. Besides the Youth Passes (discounts for <26) that allow travel by train through 30 countries all over the continent, adults are also welcome with the InterRail pass on the European trains.
“I am very proud of the way we have managed to revitalize a classic European train travel product,” says Marketing Director Jeroen de Bruin. “This Euractiv Award motivates us even more to continue with our mission to promote this true European product.”
