Plane makes emergency landing on New York highway
A light aircraft has made an emergency landing on a highway in the New York borough of The Bronx, according to reports.
The three passengers are thought to have escaped any serious injury.
The small, single-engine Piper PA-28 touched down on the Major Deegan Expressway on Saturday after taking off from Danbury, Connecticut.
It is thought that the pilot made the emergency landing after being unable to reach LaGuardia Airport.
The cause of the emergency is being investigated, but there is speculation that the emergency could have been caused by mechanical failure or a shortage of fuel.
