Paul Gregorowitsch strengthens airberlin’s Executive Board

From September 2011 Gregorowitsch will be taking over as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), responsible for network and sales. This makes him the fourth member of airberlin’s Executive Board, alongside Joachim Hunold (CEO), Ulf Hüttmeyer (CFO) and Christoph Debus (COO).

On completing his business management studies at the Institute for Tourism at Breda, the Dutchman began his professional career at KLM in 1980. At the end of a two-year trainee programme Gregorowitsch carried out a large number of functions and managerial tasks, predominantly in marketing and sales, which took him to numerous foreign stations, including Frankfurt, Brussels, Stockholm and London. In 1995 Gregorowitsch was appointed Senior Vice President of KLM, initially responsible for European operations (excluding the Netherlands), before taking over the Global Sales Passenger Division five years later. This area of responsibility increased steadily until he was finally appointed Executive Vice President Commercial. From August 2007 Gregorowitsch was in charge of the fortunes of Martinair, a hybrid airline that mainly offers cargo services, but also tourism charter flights.

Chairman of airberlin’s Board of Directors, Dr. Hans-Joachim Körber, commented: “We are pleased that, in Paul Gregorowitsch, our company has gained an experienced aviation expert.”
