North American ski season begins at Bear Mountain

It’s that time of the year again - time to break out the winter gear and hit the slopes.

Snow Summit is scheduled to open on tomorrow and Bear Mountain will follow with opening day celebrations on Friday, November 28th.

The 2014/2015 winter season is finally here in North America. 

Snow Summit is expected to open for the season with Chair 1 serving Miracle Mile top to bottom for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.

Chair 4 will also be open serving the Bear Bottom Beginner’s area.

Summit hours of operation will be from 08:30 until 16:00 daily.

Snowmaking will continue whenever possible with more lifts and runs expected to open in the near future.

Opening day celebrations will include a live DJ and all day food and drink specials.

“We couldn’t be more excited to announce opening day at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain for the 2014/2015 winter season,” said Chris Riddle, vice president of marketing at Big Bear Mountain Resorts.

“This is the Thanksgiving treat that all snowboarders and skiers have been waiting for.”

Bear Mountain is scheduled to open on weekends only beginning this Friday.

Chair 1 will be operating for intermediate and advanced riders with plenty of terrain features available.

There will be no beginner terrain available at Bear Mountain for the Thanksgiving weekend, beginners should visit Snow Summit.

Bear Mountain will begin daily operations on December 12th.

Opening day celebrations for Bear Mountain will include food and drink specials, giveaways and a live DJ that will be spinning all day in the Red Bull MXT rolling DJ booth.

Lift tickets will be offered at an early season discounted rate until more lifts and runs are available.

Guests should plan on arriving early, as ticket sales may be limited.
