Over a week you will cycle around the entire island of Madeira, enjoying in peace the surprisingly quiet mountainous roads and sweeping views. The more difficult sections are bridged with transfers, allowing for a more leisurely experience, while the more challenging, bigger climbs can be smoothed off with an e-bike.

La Palma Island Walking: Rugged La Palma suffered its longest and most damaging volcanic eruption in 2021 but the hiking trails have recently safely reopened. Walkers can reach the rim of Caldera de Taburiente, widely considered as the world’s largest erosion crater; see volcanic vents along the so-called ‘Route of the Volcanoes’; and admire the stark contrast between the lush higher areas and the treeless, lava-laden landscapes lower down.

Provence Winter Sun & Walking: The South of France offers a unique charm in winter, with mild temperatures, clear blue skies and considerably fewer crowds.
