mydestinationinfo.com appoints first head of search to help drive expansion

Travel experts MyDestinationInfo.com announce the appointment of Paul Reilly to a newly created role of Head of Search.
Reilly will oversee all search related activities for the MyDestinationInfo.com network, which encompasses 80 travel destinations across the world.

His role is to oversee the planning, creation and execution of the search marketing strategy for MyDestinationInfo.com encompassing SEO, PPC & Social Media.

Reilly expects to be hiring a team of seven to help implement the campaign; all will be based at the new MyDestinationInfo.com offices in London, with a crowd sourced army of specialists.

He joins from international search marketing agency Stickyeyes where he built a reputation as the UK’s leading SEO and link strategist in the online gaming sector.

Reilly was named on two occasions this year as one of the Most Influential People in Natural Search, as well as having historically won multiple best practice awards, including NMA Best Use of Search, during a previous role at Superbreak.com where he managed SEO and Paid Search for multiple hotel brands.

“We expect Paul to supercharge our search activities and build even more traffic for MyDestinationInfo.com,” said Neil Waller, co-founder, MyDesitinationaInfo.com. “Attracting such a heavyweight search expert to MyDestinationInfo.com will help us step up the competition with Time Out and Lonely Planet.”

“In just four years, MyDestionationInfo.com has grown from a start up business to a global network of 80 sites and more than 700,000 visitors every month,” said Paul Reilly, Head of Search, MyDestinationInfo.com.  “My job is to ensure millions more people discover our unique travel insights and local knowledge.”

MyDestinationInfo.com started life in 2006 as Marbellainfo.com, when students Neil Waller and James Street saw a gap in the market for an online tourist information resource based on advice from locally based experts.  The network now covers 80 destinations and this year, over 8 million people will have visited the site for information and inspiration.
