Maroto will be new Amadeus chief

Amadeus has announced that Luis Maroto, who is currently the company’s Deputy CEO will succeed David V. Jones in 2011. Jones will continue to lead the company as President & CEO through 2010 and Maroto will take over the reins in January 2011.


Amadeus has also appointed Ana de Pro as the new CFO, replacing Luis Maroto who combined this role with that of Deputy CEO as he looks forward towards his new responsibilities.

Before joining Amadeus, Ana de Pro held senior management positions at Arthur Andersen, Metrovacesa and Sacyr Vallehermoso. Her track record within the Spanish corporate world will be brought to bear immediately with her incorporation into the Amadeus management team starting February 2010.

David Jones said “I welcome the appointment of Luis Maroto as future President & CEO and I am looking forward to dedicating all my efforts to Amadeus for the next 12 months. Our worldwide commercial organisation will continue to be led by Philippe Chérèque as Executive Vice President Commercial. Moreover, Jean-Paul Hamon and Eberhard Haag remain as Executive Vice Presidents in charge of Development and Operations, respectively, and Tomás López Fernebrand as Vice President General Counsel. I am confident that together we will continue to set Amadeus in a class of its own in terms of industry knowledge, vision and innovation.”

Luis Maroto added, “I am delighted to be working hand in hand throughout 2010 with David ensuring a smooth and focused evolution.”
