Madeira Expands UK Flight Connections With 12% More Weekly Services for Summer 2025

Madeira is set to become even more accessible for UK travellers this summer, with a 12% increase in weekly flights between March and October 2025*. The newly released flight schedule sees weekly flights for the summer period rise from 349 in 2024 to 390 in 2025, with four new direct services launching from Luton, Bournemouth and Edinburgh.

The new routes offering greater convenience are:

Bournemouth: Jet2 will introduce a new weekly service from May, departing on Thursdays, providing a convenient 3-hour 40-minute connection between Bournemouth and Funchal.

Edinburgh: Ryanair will operate twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays, linking Scotland’s capital with Madeira in just 4 hours.

Luton: Both easyJet and Jet2 are expanding services. Jet2 will offer a weekly Monday flight for the entire summer season, while easyJet will launch two additional services from June, with departures on Mondays and Fridays. Flight time from Luton to Funchal is also 4 hours.
This expansion in air connectivity is set to give Madeira’s tourism industry a significant boost, offering UK visitors even greater ease in exploring the island’s breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture and year-round sunshine. It adds to Madeira’s already excellent connectivity, which includes a range of regional services from Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Glasgow, Jersey, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, as well as multiple services from London Gatwick, Stansted and Luton.
