Jordan Tourism launches competition

The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has launched a photo contest in English, Arabic German, Spanish, Italian, and French languages that will enable both amateur and professional photographers to rediscover Jordan through a new lens. Entries will be accepted for a 3-month period, from March 15, 2011 till June 15, 2011.

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and/or unique character of Jordan in each of the contest categories. A JTB panel will judge the entries, and all contest decisions are final. There will be two rounds of the contest. In the first round, judges will select five (5) finalists from each category, taking into consideration the number of votes received from the public and the creativity of the photo. In the second round, the public will get to vote on the finalists and choose first, second, and third place winning photos.

“Our Capture Jordan photo contest is a wonderful way to see Jordan through a different lens and point of view - from people who live and breathe the valleys and trees to people who are traveling to Jordan for the first time. I encourage everyone to participate, and I look forward to seeing what creative images our contestants capture. While at MITT Moscow on March 16, 2011, I will be announcing the start of the contest,” said Nayef Al-Fayez, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board.
