Last weekend saw the celebration of the United Arab Emirates 40th Anniversary with festivities and activities held across all seven emirates.

Since its formation 40 years ago, the UAE has established itself as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, brining visitors from all over the globe.

Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, which itself celebrates 30 years in hospitality this year, were delighted to host their own National Day celebrations on the shores of the award-winning property.

The palm-lined beach played host to the Bedouin setup with traditional Arabic coffee and a full BBQ.

Complimented with Arabic bands and fire dancers, guests were shown the techniques to making Arabic bread and weaving baskets, while kids were entertained with camel rides and a bouncy castle.

 

David Thomson, regional general manager of Jebel Ali International Hotels attended the celebrations and said “The atmosphere was terrific.

“The whole resort was full of families and groups of friends celebrating all the traditional activities and delicacies of the UAE. National Day is a fantastic opportunity to remember the culture and the customs of the country we live in and a great chance to celebrate accordingly.”

Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa close the year after picking up two awards at the World Travel Awards including the title of Middle East’s Leading Golf Resort.
