Jamaica in food focus

Jamaica is holding a prestigious cooking competition for its most talented chefs next month.

Taste of Jamaica, organised by the Culinary Federation of Jamaica (CFJ), will provide an opportunity for young chefs from the island to showcase their cooking skills.

The event, which will take place on October 15 and 16, is being held to motivate young chefs, according to Chef Ravi Anne.
He said: “Every day cooks and chefs do their best in their individual kitchens at their places of work, but the competition will bring their talent, skills and professionalism to a new level.”

The event will be held at Montego Bay Convention Centre and food lovers who are holidaying in the Caribbean have the opportunity to sample the food prepared by the 100 participants.

World Travel Awards
Also on the horizon for Jamaica is the return of World Travel Awards, which will be hosted by Sandals Resorts in October.
