Intercruises support International Cruise Summit

Intercruises has announced a sponsorship agreement for the International Cruise Summit in Madrid in October 2011.

The event will examine international cruise industry trends, applying them to the Spanish market to identify areas of potential growth.

Subjects to be discussed in Madrid include ‘Searching for the new cruise destination’, ‘The economic impact of the international cruise industry’ and ‘Port Promotion’.  Speakers already confirmed at the event include Giovanni Spadoni, Medcruise President; Bo Larsen, Cruise Baltic Director; Michele Paige, FCCA President; William Gibbons, PSA Director and Mark Robinson, Intercruises Managing Director.

“Intercruises was started in Spain and we have supported the cruise industry throughout the region. Our local experienced teams work with the established ports of Barcelona, Palma and Malaga, while assisting in the development of destinations such as Motril and Palamós, aided by our international management team. This Cruise Summit is a platform to promote these destinations and share the experience garnered during their development on an international stage. This level of knowledge sharing will not only enhance Spain as a cruise destination, but contribute to port development worldwide.” Said Mark Robinson, Managing Director, Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services. 

In addition the eventwill feature speakers representing the State Ports, Turespañaand the Portsof Barcelona, Valencia and Malaga, as well asexecutives from ship owners, including deployment and operations management. Delegates already registered for the event include itinerary and shorex planners, port authorities, travel agencies, tour operators and other destination services providers.
