HolidayExtras.com: Possible holiday disruption over Easter

Leading travel add-ons company HolidayExtras.com is reassuring customers worried about possible strike action by British Airways over the upcoming Bank Holiday period.

The company has reminded customers that they can cancel their car parking and airport hotel bookings and get a full refund, as long as they have taken out HolidayExtras.com’s cancellation protection.

Cancellation protection costs 99p for airport parking bookings, and £2.49 for airport hotel bookings and is valid for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the date of departure.

Thousands of British Airways staff have voted in favour of strikes over pay and conditions, although Unite has yet to confirm dates.

BA has committed to operating a normal schedule at London Gatwick and London City, and that its long-haul and most short-haul flights to and from London Heathrow should operate normally.

Anthony Clarke-Cowell, head of product innovation and development at HolidayExtras.com, said: “We very much hope that the strikes won’t take place, but anyone planning to travel over Easter would be wise to prepare for the possibility of changing their holiday plans.

“We urge customers to take out our cancellation protection when they book. The cost is minimal - but it’s worth it for peace of mind.”
