GuestLogix chooses Hong Kong for Asia Pacific headquarters

GuestLogix Inc. the leading global provider of onboard retail and payment technology to airlines and the passenger travel industry, today announced it will establish GuestLogix Asia Pacific operations, located in Hong Kong, underscoring the Company’s continued focus on growing market share in the region by expanding its local presence and leveraging its relationships with current partners. Collectively, the region’s airlines carry 700 million passengers annually, representing one-quarter of global passenger traffic.

The Company also announced today the appointment of veteran airline industry executive Tony Sit to the top position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of GuestLogix Asia Pacific. Mr. Sit holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He began his career as a front-line aviation engineer; since then, he has held a variety of senior sales and marketing leadership roles with Boeing subsidiary Aviall, SR Technics Switzerland, McKechnie Aerospace and Honeywell Aerospace. In his new role, he will oversee market expansion, client services and regional solutions delivery.

“Opening our Asia Pacific headquarters and adding a seasoned leader with a rich network of industry contacts to our team positions us to accelerate our growth in the region,” said Tom Douramakos, President and CEO of GuestLogix. “With our proven track record of success in North America and Europe, we believe we can develop a leading market position. GuestLogix Asia Pacific will combine our global knowledge with local service and support and bring us closer to key channel partners.”

To solidify the Company’s presence across Asia Pacific, GuestLogix plans to also open regional offices in China, Singapore and Australia. It currently has a sales and support office located in Singapore.

“GuestLogix’ innovative onboard retailing technology, combined with my in-depth knowledge and experience working with the region’s airlines, are key advantages in furthering the expansion of the Company’s footprint in the Asia Pacific airline market,” said Tony Sit, SVP and General Manager, GuestLogix Asia Pacific.

GuestLogix has strategic channel partnerships with Alpha Flight Services, Australia (“Alpha”), Inflight Sales Group (“ISG”) and Rodamas Group to introduce its onboard retail technology and OnTouch® merchandising platform to the companies’ customers in the Asia Pacific region.

This past August, through Alpha, GuestLogix deployed its OnTouch® Box Office merchandising platform onboard a leading global airline’s international carrier network. In October, the Company’s onboard retail solution went ‘live’ with Garuda Indonesia, via Rodamas, and with Hong Kong Airlines/Hong Kong Express Airways, via ISG, to power the individual carriers’ new inflight duty-free programs. GuestLogix’ onboard retail solution is helping its partners and their airline customers deliver a higher level of customized service to their passengers and provide exceptional new opportunities for incremental revenue generation.

“We are thrilled GuestLogix will have a location in Hong Kong where ISG is headquartered. It is clear that GuestLogix is committed to its growth in the region, and we believe the Company’s local office will serve as a huge advantage in introducing the onboard retail technology to our 15 airline clients,” said Tony Detter, Inflight Sales Group’s Managing Director.
