The annual World MICE Awards Gala Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, had a distinct Greek presence, with a Greek destination, two hotels, a travel agency, and a conference center securing awards in the Europe and Greece categories.

Now in its fifth year, the World MICE Awards recognize the top MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) companies globally. They are a sister event to the prestigious World Travel Awards, which is celebrating its 31st anniversary.
“World MICE Awards has had the privilege of recognizing brands that are stellar examples of excellence in their field. My congratulations to each of them,” said Graham Cooke, Founder, World MICE Awards.

In the world category, the strength of Dubai’s MICE sector was acknowledged with the UAE emirate voted ‘World’s Best MICE Destination’. Dubai World Trade Centre took triple honors with the “Middle East’s Best Convention Centre” among them.

Santorini: Europe’s Best Corporate Retreat Destination 2024
The Cycladic Island of Santorini in among Greece’s most popular destinations. This volcanic island is characterized by a series of villages perched atop an 800-foot cliff, with hues of ash grey and burnt sienna rising sharply from the wine-dark waters of the caldera.
Recently, Forbes included the island in the list of Greek destinations ideal for alternative tourism in autumn.

Other nominees were Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; Reykjavik, Iceland; Stockholm, Sweden; Tuscany, Italy; Zurich, Switzerland.

For the second consecutive year, the Grand Resort Lagonissi in Attica won the title of Greece’s Best MICE Hotel.

Mideast Travel Worldwide: Greece’s Best MICE Organizer 2024
For the fifth year running, Mideast Travel Worldwide was honored as Greece’s Best MICE Organizer. With a central office in Athens and a branch in Istanbul, the company has been in the travel and tourist market since 1983. It specializes in offering businesses and individuals first-rate business travel services. Their skilled staff can design events that are effective and customized to meet the unique needs and demands of clients.

The tour operator Blue Aegean and the wedding planning companies Mitheo Events and The Event Company were also nominated in the same category.

The results follow a year-long search for the world’s leading MICE brands. Votes were cast by MICE industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.
