Gatwick Airport has recently introduced its first official porter service targeting business travellers.
The new service offers passengers bespoke porterage, regardless of the amount of accompanying baggage. Departing travellers are escorted from kerbside to check-in, while arriving passengers will be met in the baggage reclaim hall and taken to the point of their onward travel.
The service aims to enhance travellers’ experience at the airport as all staff receive a high level of training to instil an in-depth knowledge of the facilities and amenities on site. This training enhances their ability to advise and guide passengers on any additional needs and requirements they may have over and above simply helping with their luggage.
Nick Henderson, terminals operations manager at Gatwick Airport commented: “Delivering a great service every day to our passengers is a key focus for us at Gatwick. We have been taking the time to talk to passengers, listening to their feedback and responding with creative solutions. The launch of the new porter service is a great example of this. Blackjack Promotions’ knowledge of the airport, through our existing business partnership, ensures that we are able to offer a mobile information service as well as porter service. We still have a lot of work to do but we’re thinking differently and driving improvements for passengers with pace and conviction.”
