Police have closed Edinburgh Airport as an “on-going incident” disrupts operations at the BAA operated property.

A suspicious package has been located, with authorities cordoning off the main terminal and approach roads.

A BAA statement said: “Passengers should not travel to the airport as all roads to the airport are closed until further notice.

“We will provide an update as soon as we can.”

Flights continue to operate as normal, with both departures and arrivals running to schedule.
