World Travel Technology Awards will head to Marrakech in November

Travel insiders are being urged to make their voices heard ahead of the voting deadline for the inaugural World Travel Technology Awards.

The event will be held at the Palais de Congres, part of the exclusive Palmerais Golf Palace, in Marrakech, Morocco, on November 29th, with voting set to close on October 19th.

The event will recognise the growing importance of the travel technology sector in the tourism industry, with a host of prestigious awards to be presented to winners from around the world.

Among the most fiercely competitive categories are awards for the World’s Leading Airline App, World’s Leading Hotel Brand App and World’s Leading Rail Booking Website.

Mike Sawicki, managing director, World Travel Technology Awards, explained: “This Gala Ceremony will be the first in the world to recognise the rapidly growing travel technology sector, rewarding those organisations which led their respective fields.

“But we need you! With just over three weeks to go until voting closes for the inaugural event, it is important travel industry professionals and members of the public alike make their voices heard and cast their ballots.

“The winners will then be revealed during our Gala Ceremony in November.”

World Travel Technology Awards will take place alongside the World Travel Awards Grand Final 2014.

The Grand Final marks the culmination of the World Travel Awards’ annual Grand Tour; a series of regional Gala Ceremonies selecting the best from each continent around the world.

Marrakech is a pearl polished by history, with a tradition of hospitality which, for centuries, has known how to welcome visitors. Luxury shops, tearooms and cafés adorn the streets of the ‘red city’ as it effortlessly reconciles its prestigious past with contemporary dynamism.

A worthy host of the World Travel Awards Grand Final, Marrakech is a city full of life and enthusiasm.

The city was selected to host the prestigious event following the signing of an official three-year hosting deal between the Office National Marocain du Tourisme and World Travel Awards
