CCH Chef Edgar Hirt re-elected President of AIPC

Edgar Hirt, Managing Director of CCH – Congress Center Hamburg, was unanimously confirmed with 173 votes as President at the 53rd annual meeting of AIPC (the International Association of Congress Centres) in San Diego, USA. That means he will lead AIPC for another two years – he has already held the office of President for four years, and was Vice-President for two years and Treasurer for two years.

“I am delighted at being re-elected to this exciting office”, said Edgar Hirt, “and of course particularly pleased at the very clear result of the election. The cooperation of congress centres within AIPC gives us a valuable opportunity for exchange, and is constantly producing new synergies.”

AIPC is the industry association for professional convention and exhibition centre managers world wide. AIPC is committed to encouraging and recognizing excellence in convention centre management, while at the same time providing the tools to achieve such high standards through its research, educational and networking programs.

AIPC occupies a unique position amongst the various organizations that represent the meetings industry. It focuses specifically on the issues, opportunities and challenges facing convention and exhibition centres.
