Caribbean Tourism
The Caribbean island of St Barts is playing host to what is expected to be the most star-studded New Year’s Eve party. Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has flown in The Black Eyed Peas to perform at his lavish £3 million shindig. Other celebrities on the island include Demi Moore and partner Ashton Kutcher, Star Wars producer George Lucas, Alicia Keys, movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, Puff Daddy, Salma Hayek and Victoria Silvstedt – all are thought to have been invited to the party at the oligarch’s £58 million estate in Governor Bay.
The whole bay has been cordoned off, with marquees set up around the beach. The 250 guests have the option of staying in the estate’s private bungalows. Abramovich has also borrowed a fleet of multimillion pound boats from fellow oligarchs to ferry guests. There is also a mooring for luxury yachts.
One of his yachts will be Ashton and Demi’s home during their time on the island as Roman’s guests.
One of his other yachts will be used to launch hundreds of thousands of pounds of fireworks at midnight.

Earlier this month, he took delivery of the world’s largest private yacht, the 543ft Eclipse. Costing £226million, the nine-deck vessel features a cinema, library and restaurant, as well as an anti-paparazzi shield consisting of infrared lasers.
Last year, the Chelsea-owner hosted a party at his £18million ranch in the Aspen, Colorado. The winter theme included an indoor ice rink built for guests, whilst Nicole Scherzinger performed with her former group the Pussycat Dolls.
