AUSTIN, Texas - Wayport, Inc., the travelers’ choice for rapid-fire portable connection to online communications and information, announces the opening of its European headquarters and appointment of Bruce Rudy as managing director, Wayport Europe.
Rudy brings 25 years of IT industry experience to Wayport, formerly serving as vice president of network acquisition with GTS Network Services and an original executive board member of its pan-European fiber optic network venture, Hermes Europe Railtel. As managing director, Rudy will oversee development of the company’s European operation.

Our recent chain-wide agreements with global companies such as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and our continued discussions with major international airports support the demand and timing of this move. In fact, installation of Wayport’s high-speed Internet is near completion at the Four Seasons Hotel Canary Wharf in London.”
Wayport’s newly-appointed chief executive officer, Dave Vucina, added, “Wayport has provided convenient, reliable Internet connectivity for travelers since 1996. Major hotel companies that recently have signed-on to the Wayport connection include Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Sonesta Hotels & Resorts.
This summer, Wayport launched its wireless airport service at Dallas/Fort Worth International and Austin Bergstrom International. The company also recently debuted its membership program - offering 50 free wireless connects per user from now through the end of the year -designed to drive travelers to Wayport-equipped airports and hotels.
