US Airways is offering Internet-only bargain fares starting as low as $49 each way for travel to and from the Carolinas, southern Virginia, Augusta and Savannah, Ga.

Under the fare sale, residents of this vibrant mid-Atlantic region can travel to hundreds of exciting destinations in the U.S. and Canada. Customers residing in other U.S. and Canada cities served by US Airways also can enjoy these special fares for travel to popular places such as Hilton Head, S.C., Pinehurst, N.C., Myrtle Beach, S.C., Norfolk, Va., and Charlotte, N.C.
To take advantage of these discounts, tickets must be purchased roundtrip online via usairways.com at least 14-days prior to departure, within 24 hours of making reservations and no later than May 1, 2000, with all travel completed by midnight


Sept. 30, 2000. One Saturday night stay is required in most markets. Travel cannot exceed 14 days from origination. Tickets must be purchased using a major credit card and become nonrefundable 24 hours after making an initial reservation. The lowest fares are available when traveling Tuesday through Thursday.

These fares are subject to additional charges including, but not limited to, federal excise tax of $2.50 per segment (defined as a takeoff and a landing), and airport passenger facility charges of $3 - $12, depending on your flight itinerary. Canada fares do not include taxes, fees, and surcharges of up to $41. Under certain circumstances, tickets may be changed for a $75 administrative fee, plus the difference between the two fares, if applicable.

Customers also will receive 5,000 bonus Dividend Miles the first time they book online and 1,000 bonus Dividend Miles thereafter, when purchasing a roundtrip ticket through usairways.com and flying on US Airways, the US Airways Express carriers,


US Airways Shuttle or MetroJet. Both online booking bonuses are valid for a ticket purchased and flights taken by June 30, 2000.


As an added incentive, US Airways is offering Double Dividend Miles for flights taken through May 15 with the purchase of a paid, qualifying ticket of any booking class, valid on all US Airways, US Airways Express carriers, US Airways Shuttle and MetroJet flights. All Dividend Miles rules apply.


US Airways, US Airways Express, US Airways Shuttle, and low-fare MetroJet fly to 205 destinations worldwide, including 38 states in the U.S., Bermuda, Cancun, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Nassau, San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Croix, and the Canadian destinations of Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Hamilton, and London, Ontario. US Airways’ transatlantic destinations include Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Munich, Paris and Rome. Service between Philadelphia and Manchester, England, will begin on May 25.
