ATLANTA - David Miranda, CEO and founder, LastMinuteTravel.com today announced the appointment of Daver Lau, Director, Asia Pacific. 

Reporting to David Vis, Managing Director, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific, Lau will identify and qualify business partners to license the use of LastMinuteTravel.com’s technology and unique business model.  In addition, Lau will target travel providers who can benefit from using LastMinuteTravel.com as a global marketing channel.  Lau joins LastMinuteTravel.com from Amadeus Global Travel Distribution, www.Amadeus.net in Madrid, Spain, where he was the Country Manager for Business Development and Market Manager for Asia Pacific.

“LastMinuteTravel.com’s technology platform provides a winning international ‘b to e-commerce’ solution that enables localization on a global basis, ” said Miranda.  “Our expansion internationally is driven by the growing market of travel providers and suppliers who are seeking a turnkey solution to developing an internet commerce platform.  Daver’s history with Amadeus Global Travel Distribution provides both the experience and technical knowledge to help us develop partnerships throughout Asia and the Pacific Rim,” added Miranda.

Lau holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Computer and Information Sciences, and Electrical Engineering from Queens’ University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada.  He began his career with the Telecommunication Research Institute of Ontario, Kingston, Canada, and worked as a software development engineer for Nortel Networks prior to joining Amadeus Marketing, S.A., in 1996.  Lau will be headquartered in Hong Kong and can be reached at [email protected].
