PRINCESS INTERNET WEBCAM NAMED TO EARTHCAM’S TOP TEN

Princess Cruises’ website has received recognition as the home of one of the Internet’s 10 best live webcams. The honor, from EarthCam.com, recognizes Princess’ unique BridgeCam, a first in the cruise industry.

The Princess BridgeCam, which debuted in March with a live view from the bridge of Grand Princess, the largest cruise vessel in the world, provides an updated image every 60 seconds, whether the ship is at sea or in port. Currently, viewers can visit Princess’ site at www.princess.com to see live photos from many of the Mediterranean’s most spectacular ports as the ship sails between Istanbul and Barcelona, or shots of the ship itself when at sea. Due to its tremendous popularity, the BridgeCam has been included on six additional Princess ships, with plans to expand the cameras to the entire fleet.

“The BridgeCam has proven to be one of the most popular areas on our website,” said Rick James, Princess’ senior vice president of customer service and sales. “It’s a wonderful way to take a virtual voyage, and experience some of the most beautiful and exciting destinations in the world.”

EarthCam.com is the first searchable directory devoted to locating live cameras on the Internet. To create their top 10 list, site producers choose the most imaginative, interesting and image-rich live camera sites from among thousands listed worldwide.
Princess’ website debuted as the largest cruise industry site and includes a number of innovative features, such as the largest selection of 360 IPIX photos available on any cruise line site, enabling viewers to tour Princess’ new Grand Class® ships. Visitors to www.princess.com can also access a wealth of information about Princess’ ships, onboard experience, itineraries and destinations. Other features include video clips and slide shows of special events, a travel agent locator and “cool stuff” such as a Princess screen saver and electronic post cards.
