NVIDIA® GeForce FX Go5200, USB 2.0 connectivity and much more, Toshiba is

providing the very best of today`s lifestyle-focussed mobile computing

technology.

The Satellite® P20 series debuts a host of shiny-new features never before

seen in the notebook market, including the newest Intel® Pentium® 4

processor with HT Technology 3.06GHz, backed up by an advanced 800MHz

system bus and supporting Hyper-Threading Technology, meaning unprecedented

computing power for watching movies, playing games or making your own

music.  Hyper-Threading Technology, which was pioneered on Intel`s advanced

server processors, helps your PC work more efficiently by maximising

processor resources and enabling a single processor to run two separate

threads of software simultaneously. With DVD-burning capabilities (both

DVD-RAM and DVD-R/-RW) the Satellite® P20 is just like your own Hollywood

studio on the move. With the flexibility of the Module Bays allowing

optical drives to be swapped for a second battery or hard drive, this new

impressive retail line up is bringing modern advantages of mobile computing

to the home, replacing yesterday`s stationary paradigm.

“Now we have added desktop publishing on a big, widescreen ratio display to

the list of functions that used to be considered exclusive to desktops,”

said Willem Poterman, general manager of Toshiba`s EMEA Computer Systems

Marketing Division. “Whereas notebooks were once a poor cousin, today they

are a more competitive rival to desktops and the best developments are

arriving in the notebook first and we are seeing an increase in the mobile

digital consumer embracing this technology.”

Perhaps the most important of the new features is the display technology

for the Satellite® P20. Reinforcing Toshiba`s clear leadership in portable

display technology, the new Satellite® P20 17-inch screen boasts a unique

1440-by-900 super crisp pixels in a widescreen 16:10 ratio. This high-end

digital technology showcase includes NVIDIA`s GeForce? FX Go5200 graphics

processor with unshared memory of up to 64MB and DX9 support, Secure

Digital? (SD?), harman/kardon® stereo speakers, TV-out port, fast InfraRed,

V.92 modem Germany, UK and France only), 10/100 Ethernet, i.LINK (IEEE

1394) port and a Toshiba Remote Control.

Current trends mean that as digital entertainment becomes more and more

central to our lives, a powerful and portable multimedia computer at the

centre of that digital leisure time is increasingly used for digital

photography, DVD movies, MP3 and CD music, video games and so on.

Assembling this impressive array of features in the Satellite® P20, Toshiba

is once again proving that no other vendor can demonstrate a better command

of today`s most advanced and innovative leisure computing technology.
