Leisureplanet a leading Internet travel services provider that is majority-owned by Leisureplanet Holdings, Ltd. (Nasdaq: LPHL) today announced the appointment of Jon Barrett as chief information officer. Barrett will drive the company’s future IT strategy, and take responsibility for the technical infrastructure of Leisureplanet, covering all the systems that power the global e-travel service.

Prior to joining Leisureplanet, Barrett served as technical director of JBA Software Products Limited, one of the top five ERP solutions providers worldwide, responsible for setting and communicating the company technical strategy, ensuring a consistent and coherent software architecture for current and future products, reporting to the company chairman. Previously Jon held several senior positions in Digital Equipment Corporation which included setting up Digital’s Applied Research group in the UK.
