InterContinental Appoints Bob Jackman

ATLANTA (Aug. 11, 2003) - InterContinental Hotels Group [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world’s most global hotel company, has named Bob Jackman senior vice president and general counsel, the Americas.

Reporting to Steve Porter, president-the Americas of InterContinental Hotels Group, Jackman manages the legal department and serves as legal counsel for InterContinental Hotels Group’s Americas division. Jackman’s new role represents Porter’s strategy to balance internal promotions with external talent to maximize top-line performance.

Previously, Jackman served as senior vice president and general counsel for InterContinental Hotels Group’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, where he was responsible for providing legal services to the company throughout the region and also headed up the risk management function.

Jackman is a 27-year veteran of the legal industry having held positions of increasing responsibility with InterContinental Hotels Group’s legal departments for 22 years, including vice president and general counsel for the Southeast U.S., Caribbean and Latin America. Prior to joining InterContinental Hotels Group in 1981, Jackman served in various legal positions with General Electric.

“Bob is a an excellent lawyer and has a tremendous amount of company knowledge and experience,” said Porter. “I have every confidence that he will be a valuable asset to the Americas region.”

A native of New York, Jackman earned his bachelor’s degree in 1973 and juris doctor in 1976 both from Cornell University.
