Crowne Plaza Opens in Vilnius

New hotel to open in one of Eastern Europe’s emerging business and leisure destinations. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, the contemporary up-scale hotel brand with nearly 200 hotels in more than 50 countries worldwide, today announces the opening date of the newest addition to its portfolio, in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.
Following a multi million pound investment, the hotel will open on 1st June 2003 with 108 classic-style rooms, all equipped with air-conditioning, cable TV and modem connection points.
To mark the completion of this major project, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts is offering guests a special introductory rate of £90 per room per night (non introductory rate is £100 per standard room), including breakfast, services and tax (subject to availability, based on a standard room, valid during June 2003 only). Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts is introducing its “Meetings Success” product in properties worldwide. An industry first, the Two Hour Response guarantees prompt replies to enquiries from meetings planners and the Crowne Meetings Director offers a single point of contact to ensure the smooth running of all functions. Furthermore, the Daily Meetings Debrief offers immediate address of issues arisen throughout the day. Crowne Plaza is rolling out its competitively priced, flexible meetings package in all of its properties in early 2004.
Fast becoming an important business centre for the whole region, Vilnius benefits from its proximity to the emerging markets of the other Baltic states, as well as Belarus, Russia and Poland. The Crowne Plaza Vilnius is set to establish itself as the place to meet in Lithuania, with eight fully equipped meeting rooms, flexible enough to cater from 14 to 800 participants.
The Crowne Plaza Vilnius features a 16th floor panoramic coffee bar with views overlooking the historic city. Other food and beverage options include the hotel’s restaurant, serving modern European cuisine and the comfortable refuge of the stylish Lounge Bar. Guests will also benefit from the hotel’s impressive leisure facilities, such as a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa and fitness centre.

A historically important city, Vilnius lies close to the geographic centre of the European continent. The city boasts a Baroque old town, placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994. The hotel itself is situated beside the Park Vingis - the Lithuanian equivalent of London’s Hyde Park - and is close to the city’s many tourist attractions.
