Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) announced today the opening of a 532-room Wyndham hotel in downtown Phoenix. The Wyndham Phoenix, formerly known as the Crowne Plaza Phoenix-Downtown, joins the Wyndham brand as part of a 10-year franchise agreement between the property`s owners, Phoenix Hospitality LLC, and Wyndham International.

To bring the property up to Wyndham`s brand standards, the property is currently undergoing a $6 million renovation which includes a complete re-creation of the hotel`s lobby including the development of a new registration area and concierge desk; introduction of a new street front open air lounge; a new Quick Service Food Outlet; new restaurant; new furniture and flooring; and refurbished public restrooms. Renovations to the property`s meetings facilities and foyers include new ceiling treatments and lighting; refurbished flooring and wall covering; new furniture; an enhanced lighting and sound system; and the addition of a 2,800 square-foot lobby level junior ballroom.

Wyndham`s brand standards aimed at enhancing guest comfort and convenience are now available at the Wyndham Phoenix including Wyndham`s Room That Performs(SM) guest room experience program, which provides high-speed Internet access (free of charge to Wyndham ByRequest(R) members); a two-line cordless speaker phone; a high-performance, ergonomic, Herman Miller(R) desk chair; and upgraded Serta(R) plush top mattresses with luxury bedding. In addition, Wyndham ByRequest, the brand`s guest recognition program developed by Wyndham to deliver on its brand philosophy of empowering guests to achieve a more customized hotel experience, is now offered at the hotel.
