Marriott Opens Extended-Stay Thailand

Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) has expanded its Marriott Executive Apartments (MEA) lodging brand portfolio for extended-stay travelers to Bangkok, Thailand. The 164-unit Mayfair, Marriott Executive Apartments is owned by Golden Land Property Development Plc and is the seventh Marriott property in Thailand.
The Mayfair, Marriott Executive Apartments is an upscale apartment for business executives who plan to stay in Bangkok for more than a month at a time or for travelers who need more space than what is offered by a hotel. The apartments provide comfortable surroundings and Marriott service, allowing guests to confidently enjoy their new surroundings and begin their life in Bangkok, according to Suratsawadee Sirikasem, the general manager.
“We are thrilled to see our Marriott Executive Apartments brand open in Thailand,” said Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging for Marriott International. “The brand’s growth represents a shift toward a global economy and meets the needs of business travelers on extended assignment in such epicenters as Tokyo, HongKong, Shanghai, Mumbai, Prague, Dubai, Budapest, Brussels and now, Bangkok.”

The Mayfair, Marriott Executive Apartments is situated in Bangkok’s central business district, in close proximity to the American, British and other embassies. Major department stores are minutes away, along with a large variety of Asian and western restaurants to satisfy any palette. The sky train station is within walking distance, and Bangkok’s largest park, Lumpini, with a lake and jogging trails, is just outside the door.
The Mayfair, Marriott Executive Apartments offers exceptional views of the city through the floor-to-ceiling windows in each unit. Apartments range in size from 54-to-186 square meters and are available in one-, two- and three-bedroom units. All have fully equipped kitchens (refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee/tea maker, microwave, toaster, dishware and utensils), washing machine and dryer. Apartments are fully furnished with a residential atmosphere and include bathrooms with a separate shower and bathtub, in-room safe, minimum of three telephones, private telephone number, voice mail, data port with high speed internet access, DVD player and multiple flat screen televisions with satellite feed carrying such channels as HBO, Cinemax, Super Sport, Discovery, BBC and ESPN.
All residents are greeted with a welcome basket, and resident and bell services help familiarize them with the property and its amenities. Additional guest services include housekeeping, laundry collection, room service, parking, on-site security, parcel storage and delivery, courier service, and taxis and limousines.

Other amenities include a state-of-the-art 24-hour health club that occupies the entire 26th floor and offers breathtaking views of the city. The health club features computerized step machines, treadmills, bicycles, a variety of weight training equipment, a covered rooftop pool with fiber optic lights, multiple saunas and whirlpools.

For dining, the Mayfair, Executive Apartments offers the Bistro lounge and restaurant, which offers breakfast and full a la carte dining throughout the day. A complimentary continental breakfast is also available every day.
Advance reservations can be made by contacting a travel agent, calling toll free in local markets or on the Marriott web site at www.marriott.com. Marriott-appointed general sales agents and local Marriott Global Sales Offices can provide assistance and additional information.
