Attempting to exercise greater control over Web sales of wholesale inventory, Six Continents signed an agreement with Expedia to give the online agency access to merchant inventory loaded into Six Continents` central reservations system.
Six Continents said it will encourage properties to load merchant rates into the CRS, giving them the opportunity to change prices and availabilities of wholesale rooms.
Six Continents signed a similar agreement with Travelocity earlier this year.
